Ashwagandha is an Ayurvedic herb that is commonly known for it's adaptogenic properties. Ashwagandha may be used to calm the nervous system and promote relaxation, reducing cortisol levels. Ashwagandha benefits many body systems including the nervous system, endocrine system, immune system, neurological system and reproductive system. Add a teaspoonful to a cup of warm water or fold it into melted butter or ghee. Add it to a miso soup broth or simply add it to a smoothie or oatmeal.
